Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Machine Operator for its food manufacturing team in Affton, MO. You will operate, monitor, and maintain production and packaging equipment to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.

This role suits candidates with manufacturing experience and strong mechanical aptitude who thrive in a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities include setting up equipment, changeovers, quality checks, and adherence to GMP/HACCP standards.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of manufacturing or production experience.
• Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to perform equipment setup, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Basic math, reading, and documentation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Dependable, safety-focused, and adaptable.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate production and packaging machines following company procedures.
• Set up equipment, perform product changeovers, and make machine adjustments as needed.
• Monitor machine performance to ensure quality and minimize downtime.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and minor mechanical adjustments.
• Conduct routine quality checks and document results accurately.
• Follow GMP, HACCP, food safety, and sanitation requirements.
• Clean equipment and maintain a safe, organized work area.
• Complete production, quality, safety, and sanitation paperwork.
• Handle raw materials and ingredients, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Use pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely.
• Work with production, maintenance, quality, and leadership teams to meet production goals.
• Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
