Job summary

The Marzetti Company in Kentucky is seeking a sanitation technician to thoroughly clean and sanitize the processing and packaging areas and all production equipment to maintain a clean, safe plant.

Hourly wage is $22.84/hour. Typical shifts run Monday–Thursday 5:00PM–5:00AM. The role requires following sanitation schedules, adherence to GMP and safety procedures, and strong communication with supervisors and coworkers.

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial environment and handling sanitizing chemicals and non-toxic food products.
• Forklift and pallet jack operation training is helpful.
• Ability to read and comprehend cleaning chemical instruction sheets.
• Ability to perform the essential job requirements.

Responsibilities

• Correctly washes and sanitizes all processing equipment, pumps, blenders and transfer lines or production machine blocks, hoppers, feed tubes and hoses.
• Breaks down, cleans, and sanitizes all filling equipment including but not limited to hoppers, feed tubes, vibrator feeders, drop tubes, filler hoppers, augers.
• Cleans entire processing workstation including tables, conveyor chains, floors, walls, air filter hoses and dust collectors, drop cards, air and electric drops, check weighers, scales, and wall mounted items such as fire extinguishers, sinks, soap and paper towel dispensers.
• Empties and cleans all trash receptacles in production and warehouse areas.
• Washes plastic curtains in processing rooms and production areas.
• Bales residual corrugated and stacks pallet and barrels from previous shifts.
• Follows master sanitation schedule as instructed by supervisor.
• Cleans all restroom facilities.
• Washes all floors by using floor scrubbers, vacuums, air hoses and mops.
• Cleans up debris and refuse from exterior of plant.
• Adheres to company policies, procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Code of Safe Practices, Standard Operating Procedures and Lockout/Tagout Procedures.
• Ensures compliance to quality, food safety and FSPC support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer, and government standards.
• Works in a safe and accident-free manner and follows all safety procedures while maintaining a quality-oriented attitude in the workplace.
• Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned by Management.
