Job summary

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of previous job-related experience.

• Preferred: High School Diploma plus on-the-job training.
• Must be able to operate cleaning equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily cleaning, buffing and bonneting procedures in assigned areas.
• Performs striping and waxing of floors and surfaces as assigned.
• Maintains a clean, sanitary, safe and orderly environment for staff, patients and visitors.
• The Floor Technician demonstrates behavior consistent with the operating principles of Loyola University Medical Center and functions as a contributing member of a health care team which meets patient needs through effective communication and commitment to quality outcomes.
• Performs daily and project scheduled floor care procedures throughout the facility. Must be able to operate equipment safely and proficiently.
• Identifies and reports maintenance and security problems to appropriate personnel.
• Perform unplanned/unscheduled cleaning functions throughout the day in response to spills, accidents, unexpected debris, etc.
• Logs and tracks maintenance of all equipment. Reports any broken equipment. May fix minor items such as a vacuum cleaner belt. Maintains an organized equipment room.
• Will assist in any special projects, new construction turnover, room refresh, etc.
