Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Floor Technician to maintain clean, safe, and professional flooring across facilities. Responsibilities include cleaning, polishing, waxing, buffing, and stripping on tile, hardwood, carpet, and vinyl surfaces, with attention to safety and company standards.

The role requires experience in floor care, ability to operate equipment, knowledge of cleaning chemicals, and reliable attendance. Night shifts, weekend flexibility, and travel between locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in floor care or janitorial services required.
• Ability to safely operate floor care equipment.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper usage.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards preferred.
• Experience in commercial or business service environments is a plus.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and management.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for minor equipment issues preferred.
• Floor care or maintenance certification is a plus.
• Valid driver's license required; may travel between locations.
• Attendance is required to be successful in this position.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of various floor surfaces, including tile, hardwood, carpet, and vinyl, using appropriate equipment and cleaning agents.
• Apply floor finishes, waxes, and sealants to protect and enhance floor appearance per manufacturer guidelines.
• Perform floor stripping and buffing as required.
• Inspect floors regularly and report damage or safety hazards to management.
• Operate and maintain floor care equipment, including buffers, scrubbers, and extractors.
• Follow all safety procedures and use PPE to maintain a safe work environment.
• Assist with custodial duties as needed based on operational demands.
• Other duties as assigned.
