Job summary

EPSI in Austin, TX is seeking a Floor Technician to maintain the cleanliness and safety of facility flooring. You will perform cleaning, polishing, waxing, buffing, and stripping across tile, hardwood, carpet, and vinyl while following safety procedures to ensure high standards.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to operate floor care equipment, and reliable attendance. This is a full-time, nighttime position that contributes to a professional building environment.

Qualifications

• Previous floor care or janitorial experience.
• Ability to safely operate floor care equipment.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals.
• Experience in commercial environments is a plus.
• Strong communication with team members and management.
• Basic troubleshooting for minor equipment issues.
• Floor care certification is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license; may operate company vehicles between locations.
• Attendance is required to be successful in this role.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of various floor surfaces, including tile, hardwood, carpet, and vinyl, using appropriate equipment and cleaning agents.
• Apply floor finishes, waxes, and sealants to protect and enhance floor appearance in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
• Perform floor stripping and buffing as required.
• Inspect floors regularly to identify areas requiring repair or special attention; report damage or safety hazards.
• Operate and maintain floor care equipment, including buffers, scrubbers, and extractors, ensuring proper working condition.
• Follow all safety procedures and use PPE to maintain a safe work environment.
• Assist with custodial duties as needed based on operational demands.
• Other duties as assigned.
