Who's On the Move is seeking a Fitter/Welder in Georgetown, SC. The role focuses on weld preparation, MIG welding, and finishing to blueprints and customer drawings. A night shift option includes a $2 differential.

Responsibilities include reading structural drawings, welding aluminum and steel per procedures, and documenting inspections. Requires a HS diploma and 2+ years fitting/welding experience.

Qualifications

  • Pass an in-house weld test.
  • Able to read (WPS) Welding Procedure Specifications.
  • Able to read & meet company welding parameters.
  • Welding Training Certificate AWS D1.1 preferred.
  • 2+ Years Fitting/Welding in Structural and/or Pipe applications.
  • Aluminum welding experience is a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of welding processes and procedures.
  • Experience interpreting blueprints, operator instructions, and process documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Use AWS D1.1 and D1.2 approved welding techniques to weld Aluminum and Steel components.
  • Read, interpret and fit to dimensions on detailed structural and pipe drawings.
  • Process inspection, certification, and documentation for job assignment(s).
  • Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools as required.
  • Use fitting tools including tape measure, square, angles, and protractor degrees.
  • Complete and understand all weld/machine setup parameters (amps, volts, etc.).
  • Adhere to safety regulations and requirements.
  • Follow Lean Manufacturing concepts.
  • Maintain clean, organized 5S compliant workspace.
  • Adhere to Quality Standards for own work quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must have experience as a fitter.

Job description

The Fitter/Welder is responsible for variety of weld preparation, MIG welding, and weld finishing operations to manufacture products to blueprints, customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

Pay range: $24-$28. There is a $2 shift differential (non-exempt employees working night shift hours. Hours are a minimum 7pm-5:30am).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Use AWS D1.1 and D1.2 approved welding techniques to weld Aluminum and Steel components
  • Read, interpret and fit to dimensions on detailed structural and pipe drawings
  • Process inspection, certification, and documentation for job assignment(s)
  • Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools as required
  • Use of fitting tools, including, but not limited to tape measure, square & angles, protractor degrees
  • Complete and understand all necessary weld/machine setup parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
  • Use safe work habits and adhere to all safety regulations and requirements
  • Perform work in adherence with Lean Manufacturing concepts
  • Maintain clean, organizedsafe working environment with equipment and materials located in proper locations in accordance with 5S standards
  • Adhere to all Quality Standards as responsible for quality of own work
  • Perform other job duties as assigned

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously (75% or more)
  • Ability to bend, stoops, twists, reach, kneel, climb, and handle/manipulate frequently
  • Ability to lift 75-100 lbs. frequently (25%-75%)
  • Ability to push and pull 100 lbs. or more frequently (25%-75%)
  • Ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment for this position
