Description

We are seeking a highly skilled A-Class Fitter/Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both fitting and welding, with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, assemble components, and perform high-quality welds using various welding techniques. You will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components in accordance with company specifications, while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Fitting & Assembly: Fit and assemble metal components and structures based on blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders. Ensure all parts are properly aligned and secure.
  • Welding: Perform high-quality welding operations using various methods such as MIG, TIG, or Stick welding, ensuring the integrity of the welds meets industry standards and specifications.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to accurately assemble and weld parts and components.
  • Quality Control: Inspect welds, fitments, and components to ensure they meet required specifications. Perform testing, such as visual inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT), to ensure the strength and durability of the welds.
  • Machine & Tool Operation: Operate welding equipment and hand tools, such as grinders, cutting torches, and power tools, to perform fitting and welding tasks.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of materials. Follow all regulatory and company standards for welding, fabrication, and work environment.
  • Troubleshooting & Repairs: Identify and resolve any issues related to fitment, welding defects, or component integrity. Perform repairs as necessary to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work completed, including materials used, welding specifications, and inspection results.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including supervisors, engineers, and machine operators, to ensure projects are completed efficiently and according to schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Welding certification (e.g., AWS, ASME) and formal training in fitting or welding are preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a welder/fitter in a manufacturing, construction, or fabrication environment.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with MIG, TIG, Stick welding, and other welding techniques.
  • Experience with fitting and assembling metal components based on blueprints and specifications.
  • Skills:
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Skilled in welding processes and techniques with the ability to produce high-quality welds.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools and power equipment.
  • Knowledge of welding codes, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and quality.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and work in various physical positions.
  • Comfortable working in hot, noisy, and potentially hazardous environments.
  • Ability to work with welding equipment and power tools for extended periods.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, welding helmet, face shield, and protective clothing.
