Job summary

Avery Dennison in Painesville, OH is seeking a Finishing Team Manager to lead the night-shift finishing operations, ensuring safety, quality, and performance while guiding approximately 20 hourly associates.

You will collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Process Engineering, drive daily improvements, and communicate downtime and efficiency issues across shifts. This on-site role requires strong communication and decisive leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of operations experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated leadership with delegation and teamwork while gaining respect at all levels of the organization.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, effectively problem-solve operational issues, and implement solutions to prevent recurring problems.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to build a teamwork atmosphere with a diverse workforce.
• Preferred qualifications include: Lean/Six Sigma, ISO 9000, TS 16949, or project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activities of approximately 20 team members including mentoring, counseling, performance management, and corrective action processes.
• Oversee safety, quality, cost, and culture on the night shift and coordinate with production leadership.
• Drive safety culture and performance through audits, investigations, and adherence to policies.
• Identify root causes and countermeasures for performance issues including downtime, delays, and defects.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Process Engineering to ensure shift production report accuracy and communicate downtime issues across shifts.
