Job summary

Leggett & Platt is seeking a Filter Press Operator for our Merit Steel site in Kouts, Indiana. You will start up and shut down the filter press, monitor tanks, operate pumps, and keep equipment clean while prioritizing safety.

Responsibilities

• Start up and shut down the filter press system.
• Monitor sulfate and recovery tanks and operate pumps.
• Respond to system alarms to ensure safety and continuity.
• Maintain equipment, clean refrigeration coils, de-sludge, and manage acids.
• Calibrate pH meters and log readings.
• Clean filter press and work areas.
• Perform tasks assigned by Supervisor with safety as top priority.
