Job summary

Daifuku North America is seeking a Fabricator to operate fabrication and machine shop equipment on a 3rd shift. You will read blueprints, interpret job specs, and set up equipment to cut, form, and assemble steel components for industrial automation projects.

The role requires reading measurements, quality-inspection know-how, and ability to stand for long periods; LOTO and crane certifications are required, with forklift experience preferred; Saturday work may be necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year related experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of standard and metric measurements.
• Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
• Team orientation.
• LOTO certification required.
• Crane operation certification required.
• Forklift operation experience preferred.
• Ability to work Saturdays as needed.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Operate fabrication shop and machine shop machinery and equipment, such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punches, to cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures.
• Read job specifications and blueprints to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
• Position workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade.
• Measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
• Detects workpiece defects and machine malfunctions.
• Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, and scale from workpiece.
• Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, die, or workpieces.
• Employees are responsible for complying with all requirements of Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures.
• Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.
