Position Summary

The Fabricator operates fabricating machines to create structural steel products used in industrial automation.

Responsibilities

• Operating fabrication shop and machine shop machinery and equipment, such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punches, to cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures.
• Reading job specifications and blueprints to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Setting stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
• Positioning workpiece against stops or aligning layout marks with die or blade.
• Measuring workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
• Detecting workpiece defects and machine malfunctions.
• Removing burrs, sharp edges, rust, and scale from workpiece.
• Performing minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, die, or workpieces.
• Ensuring compliance with all requirements of Daifuku's QMS policies and procedures.
• Ensuring sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide industry performance and customer satisfaction.

Education and Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of related experience preferred.

Job Conditions

• The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
• The worker is subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
