Job summary

Hartzell Fan, Inc. is seeking a fabrication operator to convert flat sheet goods and structural material into finished parts. You will set up and run manual and CNC equipment, read work orders, and adhere to safety and Lean principles.

The role requires ability to lift heavy material, read blueprints and measuring tools, and communicate effectively with the team. Overtime may be required to meet production demands.

Qualifications

• Fabrication experience is strongly desired.
• Experience with handheld grinders, drills, cutting tools and welders is preferred.
• Lean manufacturing and structured problem solving tools are a plus.
• Good blueprint reading and math skills required.
• Able to read squares, protractors, and measuring tapes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Frequent lifting 60% of day; lifts 10–25 lbs; occasional 25–50 lbs; overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Receive and interpret work orders from supervisor or team lead.
• Set up and operate manual fabrication equipment (shears, roll forming, iron worker, punch press).
• Operate CNC equipment (turret punch, laser torch, plasma torch, brake press) using programs and layouts.
• Move material between work centers with assistive devices.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment and support Lean initiatives.
• Assist other departments as required.
