Job summary

Spencer Britt in Dothan, AL seeks a Family Medicine Physician Assistant for a full-time night shift (8:00 PM–8:00 AM) to manage urgent and emergent cases. You will assess and treat patients across ages, order tests, and perform procedures within credentialing.

The ideal candidate has ED experience, NCCPA certification, and Alabama licensure or eligibility, with strong teamwork and patient safety focus.

Qualifications

• Alabama PA license (or eligibility) is required.
• Board-certified PA through NCCPA is required.
• 1+ year of PA experience in a high-acuity ED preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment; ability to work under pressure.
• Proficiency with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly assess and manage urgent and emergent conditions.
• Care for patients from pediatrics to geriatrics.
• Order and interpret labs, EKGs, imaging and tests.
• Perform suturing, I&D, splinting, and conscious sedation.
• Provide airway support within scope and credentialing.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the care team.
• Determine disposition: admission, transfer, or discharge.
