Job summary

The NYU Langone Health Family Health Centers at NYU Langone seeks a Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for the Emergency Department night shift to support nurses in patient care, safety and comfort. You will assist with phlebotomy, glucose testing, ECGs, patient transport, data collection for quality initiatives, and coordinate with the care team to ensure timely, compassionate service.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, PCT/CNA background with hospital exposure, and

Qualifications

• High school graduate; PCT program with 6 months hospital experience or CNA graduate with EKG & Phlebotomy and PCT cert eligible.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required on entry.
• Must complete PCT online program within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the nurse in patient care tasks and maintain safety of supplies and environment.
• Support data collection for the unit's Quality and Performance Improvement Program and patient satisfaction measures.
• Communicate with patients, families, and staff in a caring, professional manner.
• Assist in admission, transfer and discharge procedures per unit operations.
