Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Connecticut seeks an ER Tech to provide direct patient care in the Emergency Room and assist medical providers and nurses. The role includes helping with personal care, nutrition, and procedures, and supporting admissions, discharges, and transfers while communicating with patients and staff.

Eligible candidates should have a high school diploma, BLS certification, and acute care experience (EMT-B/MA/CNA preferred).

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• EMT-B, Medical Assistant or CNA with acute care experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Read, write and speak English; basic math skills.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and safety for patients in the ER.
• Assist with nutrition and elimination needs of patients.
• Perform procedures according to patient plan of care.
• Assist admission, discharge and transfer on/off unit.
• Communicate with patients, families and hospital staff.
• Maintain a safe unit environment and equipment.
