Job summary

UPMC Altoona is seeking an Emergency Department Technician for a .9 full-time night shift with rotating weekends and holidays.

You will provide direct patient care under supervision, assist RNs and physicians, perform venipuncture and vital signs, support treatments, and help maintain a safe, organized environment.

Applicants should have completed an LPN, Medical Assistant, Surgical Technologist, Paramedic, or EMT program and thrive in fast-paced emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of LPN, Medical Assistant, Surgical Technician, Paramedic or EMT program.
• Ability to adapt to constant change in healthcare settings.
• Demonstrates nursing and technology skills with patients.

Responsibilities

• Responds effectively in emergency situations.
• Assists RN/physician in admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Performs venipuncture and maintains vital signs.
• Assists with treatments and procedures as directed by training level.
• Maintains patient safety, documentation, and CPI processes.
