Job summary

Mount Carmel St. Ann's Emergency Department is seeking a full-time Emergency Department Technician for three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 pm–7:30 am, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Duties include patient transport, phlebotomy, EKG, wound care, data collection, and rapid response to trauma, stroke, sepsis, and resuscitation per protocol. Required education is a high school diploma or GED with completion of basic patient care courses and BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification and basic patient care skills required.
• Previous patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responds to patient needs promptly.
• Transportation and patient escort.
• Performs EKG, phlebotomy and specimen collection as ordered.
• Assists in trauma, stroke, sepsis alerts and resuscitation per protocol.
• Performs wound care with sterile technique when applicable.
• Performs suture/staple removal (excluding facial).
• Collects and documents patient data and vitals.
• Reports changes to RN/physician promptly.
