Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of medical, financial, or customer service experience.
• Experience in a patient care environment preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Follows established department guidelines to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of patient registrations and throughout in the emergency department.
• Greets all customers, including patients, family members and visitors in a caring and professional manner.
• Conducts mini-registration of non-trauma patients upon arrival, collecting name, ID, and visit reason.
• Registers patients by collecting and entering demographic and insurance information; verifies eligibility.
• Ensures all pertinent identification is scanned into the EMR and imaging systems.
• Performs clerical duties related to admission, discharge, transfer using the system.
• Manage communication in the ED using proper telephone etiquette.
