Sharp HealthCare in Oceanside, California seeks an Emergency Department EMT to support nurses and physicians by performing basic patient care for infants through adults under RN direction. The shift runs 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with an every-other-weekend pattern and a 12/36 hour schedule, under a SEIU CBA.
Required: high school diploma and AHA BLS certification; strong English communication; preferred 2 years in an emergency department with additional certifications within required timelines.
In alignment with the STC SEIU CBA, this position will be posted for 7 days internally from 09/11/26 to 09/18/26 and available only to existing members of the ratified STC SEIU Bargaining Unit.
The Emergency Department Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is responsible for assisting the registered nurse, physician assistant or physician with simple procedures. A staff EMT functions under the direction of a Registered Nurse. EMT provides care for infant (0-1 year of age), pediatric (1-13 years of age) and adult (14 years of age and older) populations.

AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association; H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
