Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Night Shift Emergency Dispatcher to manage EMS and hospital coordination for REACT and related departments in Illinois. You will monitor multiple radio channels and phone lines, dispatch the correct services, and provide critical pre-arrival guidance to callers.

The role requires an Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification within 9 months of hire, strong communication skills, and ability to work across a large health system 24/7.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year post high school coursework in medical terminology and/or related field.
• 3 years’ experience in hospital, pre-hospital or emergency dispatching preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle emergency and non-emergency calls and dispatch appropriate agencies.
• Monitor 8 radio channels, 2 intercoms, 6 remote repeater sites; answer 20 phone lines.
• Provide pre-arrival instructions per Medical Priority protocols.
