Job summary

Shearer’s Foods is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Fort Worth Plant on the night shift (6:45 PM–7:00 AM, rotation 2/2/3). You'll set up, install, repair and maintain production equipment and implement preventative maintenance to keep the line running safely and efficiently.

This role requires hands-on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic PLC skills, a craft apprenticeship or equivalent, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• Completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent production maintenance experience preferred.
• 3 years of manufacturing experience with strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and PLC skills.
• Ability to work within an integrated operating enterprise and manage priorities.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Must be able to work a variable schedule and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
• Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
• Performs simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
• Performs mechanic skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and makes adjustments.
• Performs regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
• Performs a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
• Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Detects faulty operations and defective material; reports those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.
