Job summary

Pennex is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for night shift in Ohio. You will diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems, maintain extrusion presses, furnaces, and associated equipment, and perform daily health checks. The role requires strong welding and PLC skills, plus precise measurement and reporting in CMMS.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical training.
• 5+ years maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• 2-5 years electrical experience.
• Proficiency in welding; hydraulic/pneumatic circuits; relay and PLC logic.
• Ability to read safety rules, procedures, maintenance documents, electrical prints/schematics, ladder diagrams, and BOMs.
• Strong reporting and math skills.
• Comfort with rulers, micrometers, and related measuring tools.
• Consistent, dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Respond quickly to breakdown calls and set repair priorities with plant leadership.
• Diagnose and fix bearings, couplings, gear reducers, alignments; hydraulic/pneumatic components; PLC faults.
• Own preventive maintenance on extrusion presses, furnaces, casting units, and related systems.
• Daily system health checks: air, water, presses oil levels, leaks, transfers.
• Install/modify equipment to boost reliability, simplify operation, and safety.
• Close out work in CMMS with accurate documentation.
• Follow safety rules; maintain clean workspaces and assist with housekeeping.
• Take on tasks that support production goals.
