Job summary

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA is hiring a Part-Time Emergency Department Technician for night shifts. The incumbent assists physicians and nurses in delivering care to ED patients, performing procedures under supervision, and participating in de-escalation and safety protocols.

Required are a HS diploma and BLS; EMT-B or military corps school credentials or enrollment in a clinical program are accepted.

Qualifications

• New incumbents must have one of the following in addition to the minimum Education : EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR
• Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates OR
• Current student enrolled in clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) having completed at least one semester within the program.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency care patients.
• Performs patient procedures and treatments under supervision of the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse.
