Job summary

Texas Health HEB is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department to work the night shift on a full-time 36-hour schedule at our HEB campus in TX. You will deliver patient care using the Nursing Process, assess patients, plan care, and intervene as needed while ensuring safety and infection control.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate Degree or Nursing Diploma (BSN preferred) with 1 year of ED experience or completion of an RN residency.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred.
• 1 year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Req
• CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• ACLS – within 90 days of hire required
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire
• NIHSS - National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification within 90 days of hire
• ENPC - Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course within 12 months required
• TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course within 12 months required
• ED experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
