Job summary

UCLA Health in Los Angeles seeks an experienced Emergency Department RN to provide evidence-based care to patients of all ages in a Magnet-designated setting. You will support a high-performing team and ensure optimal outcomes in a busy academic ED.

Applicants must hold a California RN license, a BSN/MSN, current BLS/ACLS/PALS, and have 1 year of ED experience; 12‑hour shifts, weekends, and holidays required. The position offers on-site work with a competitive hourly salary range.

Qualifications

• Current valid California RN license, required.
• BSN or MSN degree, required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS from AHA or ARC required.
• ATCN or TNCC certification within 6 months of start date if not yet obtained.
• One year of direct patient care in an Emergency Department setting.
• Official transcripts or diploma provided upon hire.
• Skills include assessment, IV start, medications, infusions, airway management.
• Ability to care for high acuity patients (stroke, STEMI, trauma, psych, pediatric).
• Ability to develop and evaluate care plans with patient/family involvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based care in an ED setting to diverse patients.
• Supervise nursing interventions and assign tasks to team members.
• Assess patient, family and staff learning needs; deliver clinical education.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
• Promote effective working relationships and patient-centered care.
