Job summary

UPMC Altoona is seeking a Clinician RN to lead the Emergency Department team. The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to mentor and develop staff. A BSN or higher is required, with MSN preferred for advancement.

The position features night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with biweekly office time, and a generous sign-on bonus up to $15,000 for eligible candidates who commit to a two-year agreement.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in practicing state.
• 2+ years of nursing experience.
• BSN required; MSN preferred if BSN not held.
• Master's degree in nursing preferred if BSN not held.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop unit staff; oversee hiring and evaluations.
• Provide clinical expertise and education to staff.
• Ensure quality patient care and safety across shifts.
• Mentor students, interns, and new nurses as a preceptor.
• Support and model relationship-based care and professional communication.
• Maintain compliant, complete documentation and shift accountability.
