Job summary

Lowe in Macon, GA is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to work the 11PM-8AM shift Monday through Friday. DSPs provide essential services to individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health needs, assisting with daily living, personal care, housekeeping, and community integration.

You will monitor health, assist with medications, support nutrition, and promote independence per each person’s ISP/POC.

Qualifications

Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
2+ years of experience working with individuals who have dual diagnosis (Mental Illness and Developmental Disability).
CNA license required to perform personal care tasks.
Current CPR/First Aid/AED certifications.
CPI certification required.
Must pass criminal background checks and TB screening.

Responsibilities

Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Provide support with medication administration and health monitoring.
Assist in nutrition, meal preparation, and feeding when necessary.
Help individuals develop daily living skills and promote independence according to their Service Plan (ISP/POC).
Provide positive behavioral support and communication assistance.
Participate in activities within the home and community as outlined in individual care plans.
Monitor individuals' health and safety, report changes to supervisor, assist in medical appointments.
Uphold the ethical standards of relevant agencies and regulations.
