Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance on medium to heavy‑duty trucks, trailers, and reefer units under minimal supervision. You will ensure legal compliance, document work orders, and may perform road calls as needed.

The role requires 2+ years of diesel repair experience, including PMs, diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and A/C refrigeration. Work hours vary, with potential night shifts and weekend coverage as scheduled.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of proven medium to heavy‑duty vehicle repair experience including PMs and diagnostics.
• Experience with tire & wheel, air and air disc brakes, electrical troubleshooting, and computerized diagnostics.
• Experience in A/C refrigeration is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, reefers) and identify root causes of faults.
• Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration before roadworthy status.
• Document all repairs and PMs in the online system and keep work orders current.
• Install, replace, and repair onboard computers as needed.
• Inspect brakes, steering, wheel bearings, and related components and replace parts as required.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, lubrication, and use hand and power tools.
• Perform other related duties as assigned and conduct road-call service when required.
