OmniSource is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician/Mechanic for the night shift to maintain the safety and reliability of our fleet. A minimum of two years' Class 8 trucking experience, strong welding and fabrication skills, and the ability to read schematics are required.

The role requires a self-motivated team player who can work independently and adapt to field conditions in Toledo, OH. Typical duties include engine and electrical repairs, tire/brake work, preventive maintenance, and accurate

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as Class 8 transport mechanic or related field.
• Strong welding and fabrication skills.
• Able to read schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
• Excellent safety awareness and adherence to regulations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair basic engine components.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical issues.
• Change tires, brake adjustments, and light repairs.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on trucks/trailers.
• Maintain maintenance documentation.
• Operate forklift and drive trucks as needed.
• Follow housekeeping standards and OSHA guidelines.
• Adhere to safety standards and contribute to process improvements.
