Job summary

US Foods is seeking an experienced diesel mechanic to maintain and repair heavy-duty fleet equipment in a onsite facility. You will diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on tractors, trailers, and related gear, ensuring DOT compliance and safe operation.

The role requires hands-on repair skills, tool readiness, and the ability to document work in the fleet software system. Work schedule Sunday to Thursday, 9pm–5:30am, with rate $38–$40 per hour.

Qualifications

• 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
• Independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Prior experience in administering appropriate PM program.
• Must furnish own personal hand tools.
• Able to read and write legibly; basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates).
• Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
• Coordinate with third party vendors and plan actions with business partners.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment per safety rules and government guidelines.
• Document repairs and parts used in fleet maintenance software.
