Job summary

Kansas Health System's Liberty Hospital is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for weeknights on the 8pm–6:30am shift. This full-time role requires performing diagnostic sonography examinations, maintaining safety, and communicating findings to the radiologist.

Candidates should have completed a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program meeting ARDMS standards; RDMS/RVT credentials are preferred, with timelines to obtain credentials and BLS as applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ARDMS‑accredited diagnostic sonography program.
• RDMS/RVT credentials preferred; commitment to obtain within defined timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic sonography examinations and assesses images with clinical judgment.
• Ensures patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
• Explains examinations and answers patient questions; notifies radiologist with findings.
• Operates imaging equipment efficiently and coordinates examinations to minimize patient time in hospital.
• Maintains equipment and completes QC as required; reports malfunctions promptly.
• Interacts with physicians and staff to ensure quality, safe care.
