Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Operations Technician for the night shift to safeguard critical data center infrastructure in Sterling, VA.

You will perform preventative maintenance on diesel generators, UPS, PDUs, CRAC, chillers, cooling towers, and fire/life safety systems, ensuring high availability. You will monitor BMS/EPMS, troubleshoot facility events, assist with rack-level tasks, and support contractors.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance.
• 2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
• Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management program.
• On-site support of contractors, ensuring work adheres to practices and local laws.
• Role may rotate shifts and locations; travel may be required.
