Qualifications

• One year experience related to custodial work.
• Ability to operate and maintain heavy cleaning equipment (vacuum cleaners, powered scrubber, buffer, carpet shampooer).
• Must be able to use a step-ladder to clean lighting fixtures and replace bulbs.
• Understanding of safe use of cleaning chemicals and insect control.
• Familiarity with event setup and furniture arrangements.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical labor, including lifting/carrying.
• Willingness to work mandatory overtime.
• Must complete Hazard Communication and Blood Borne Pathogens training.

Responsibilities

• Unlocks/locks assigned spaces and cleans floors, offices, restrooms, and common areas daily.
• Cleans public restrooms, deodorizes and restocks supplies.
• Empties trash and implements recycling procedures; maintains building cleanliness.
• Performs event setup/breakdown for College events as needed.
• Cleans light fixtures and replaces bulbs using a step ladder when required.
• Performs snow removal duties and distributes sand around entrances.
• Sets traps for rodents and controls insects as needed.
• Maintains cleaning materials inventory and notifies when items are needed.
