Job summary

Kenyon College is seeking a Custodian, Third Shift to maintain college buildings in a neat, hazard-free condition. The role requires the ability to work independently or with a team, Monday–Friday, 10:00 p.m.

to 6:30 a.m., with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. The position is full-time with benefits, starts at $18.56 per hour and includes a 5% shift differential, on a progressive five-year wage scale up to $23.19 per hour.

Qualifications

• Ability to use powered cleaning equipment.
• Ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
• Ability to work independently or in a group with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work at heights on ladders to change bulbs and clean windows.
• Ability to lift, move and transport materials up to 50lbs.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Previous custodial experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lift, carry, and move materials, supplies, furniture in a safe and careful manner.
• Use cleaning equipment such as mops, vacuums, buffers, carpet extractors.
• Use chemicals safely per MSDS and manufacturer instructions.
• Clean toilet fixtures and showers.
• Perform other tasks/duties as assigned by a supervisor.
