Qualifications

• First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 30 days of employment.
• Interpersonal and written communication to interact with university personnel and the public.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as buffers, shampooers, vacuums, hall machines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds as required by the position.
• Read and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Apply appropriate safety practices on the job.
• Perform basic math for calculations as needed.
• Identify threatening or unusual conditions and take action.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Promote customer service and help others.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, wax, and polish floors; operate cleaning machines.
• Dust, wax, vacuum furniture; clean walls, glass, drapes.
• Empty and clean trash/recycling bins.
• Sanitize restrooms and kitchens; replenish supplies.
• Move furniture, set up rooms for events as needed.
• Launder linens and custodial supplies as applicable.
• Maintain supply closet and monitor stock levels.
• Maintain and report equipment condition; report safety issues.
• May train student workers and supervise as assigned.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
