Job summary

Babson College is seeking a Custodian to perform routine cleaning, restocking, and related duties in the assigned building. The role requires adherence to safety procedures and operating cleaning equipment, with weekend, overtime, and special event coverage as needed.

Work is Tuesday–Saturday, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM. The position is non‑exempt with an hourly rate of $24.24, plus paid sick leave in accordance with state and local regulations.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of previous cleaning experience desired.
• Hepatitis B vaccination and OSHA training compliance; maintain both.
• Ability to function well in a team/community environment with courtesy.
• Frequent interaction with students, teachers, staff, and officials.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment; operate machinery.
• Ability to establish good working relations with supervisors, coworkers, students, and faculty.
• Flexibility to work alone, in a team, and in different shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning, servicing, and restocking in the assigned building.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, clean restrooms; wash windows and walls; follow procedures.
• Clean offices, residence halls, and campus buildings.
• Remove trash; sanitize and re-line waste containers.
• Polish brass and stainless steel; dust ledges, corners, baseboards, and furniture.
• Follow recycling procedures; report damages; replace burned-out bulbs.
• Support events; shovel snow and sand entrances; assist with snow removal in winter.
• Follow sign-in/out procedures and safety instructions from supervisor.
• Use chemicals per MSDS to ensure safety.
• Assume additional responsibilities as required.
