Job summary

UofL Health, Inc. seeks a CT Technologist to perform CT scans, maintain quality imaging, and ensure patient safety within the Radiology Department.

The role requires knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, contrast administration, and state regulations. 1 year of CT experience is preferred, with ARRT registration and appropriate certifications. Night shift and on-site work at South Hospital are involved.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a JRC approved program in Radiologic Technology.
• Registered with ARRT; KY Radiation Operators certification.
• BLS certification is required.
• CT Certification is preferred at time of hire but required within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Uses consistent techniques to gather information for the examination and verify patient identity.
• Assesses patient to determine and develop an action plan for completing the procedure.
• Performs pre- and post-exam patient education pertinent to the exam.
• Produces CT scans according to established protocols with high accuracy.
• Evaluates images for technical quality and diagnostic usefulness.
• Maintains radiation safety practices during all radiographic examinations.
• Performs venipuncture and contrast injections per department guidelines.
• Keeps examinations complete and logged in the system.
• Instructs Radiologic Technology students in CT technique.
• Attends department meetings and in-services.

Education

Graduate of a JRC approved program in Radiologic Technology

ARRT KY Radiation Operators certification

BLS

CT Certification (preferred, within 1 year)
