Job summary

AdventHealth in Denver, CO is hiring a Patient Care Technician for a part-time night shift. You will support nursing staff by delivering patient care, preparing the environment, and assisting with urgent clinical needs under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent; Basic Life Support and Emergency Medical Technician certifications are required or would be preferred. Prior bedside patient care in an acute care unit is encouraged.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines and uses protective equipment.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents procedures in accordance with department policy.
• Assists in obtaining a nursing history and reports abnormalities to the registered nurse.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
