Job summary

AdventHealth in Denver, CO is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide bedside patient care in a hospital setting. You will work under the direction of a registered nurse, delivering treatments, documenting procedures, and supporting clinical staff.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS CPR, and EMT certification, with preferred 1+ years of PCT experience. Night shift with full-time hours and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv (Required)
• 1+ applicable PCT experience (Preferred)
• Previous bedside patient care in acute care or related role (Preferred)
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) (Required)
• Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) (Required)

Responsibilities

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy.
• Participates in obtaining a nursing history and reports abnormalities to the registered nurse.
• Assists in identifying patient needs
• Performs other duties as assigned.
