Job summary

Cooper Norcross Health seeks a Critical Care Tech to join the night shift team under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will assist patients with activities of daily living and support the overall plan of care in a high-acuity hospital setting.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, vital signs, EKGs and documentation, escalating changes to the RN, and maintaining safety and high-quality care while engaging with patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School/GED is required.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification is required.
• At least one of: unlicensed health care provider program, nursing course, or patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, mobility, transport).
• Perform phlebotomy, vital signs, point-of-care testing, EKGs, Foley care and document findings.
• Identify and communicate changes in patient status to RN and ensure safe practices.
• Reinforce patient and family education regarding care needs and safety.
• Participate in patient satisfaction and quality improvement initiatives and orient new hires.
• Complete annual hospital and unit competencies by the due date.
• Adhere to safety protocols to maintain a safe environment and high-quality care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors and coworkers.
