Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Critical Care Unit at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta, Maine.

Location: Alfond Center for Health, Augusta. Schedule: 36 hours per week, Nights (7a-7p). This role requires Maine RN licensure and acute care experience; CCU experience is preferred. Competitive shifts differentials and comprehensive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain in a timely fashion.
• At least 1 year of RN experience in an acute care setting.
• Prior/recent CCU experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, team-based environment.
• Preferred certifications: BLS, ACLS, MOAB.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize resources.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfer, discharge, referral, and psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
• May precept student nurses and new hires.
