Job summary

FreshDirect, LLC in Bronx, NY seeks a Conveyor Belt Mechanic to uphold safety and efficiency in a fast-paced distribution environment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, and support high-speed sorting systems while complying with LOTO and safety standards.

The role requires hands-on experience with conveyors, belts, gearboxes, rollers and motors, plus the ability to lift 50 pounds and work in cold conditions, nights, weekends, and holidays as

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of experience as conveyor belt/system mechanic or technician.
• Technical education related to mechanical, electrical and refrigeration.
• OSHA safety certification is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in cold environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily preventive maintenance checks.
• Clear Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) errors or replace VFD components as needed.
• Check signal integrity on sensors, encoders and proximity switches.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA).
• Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) safety procedures.
• Familiar with high-speed shoe sorters.
• Operate CMMS for maintenance records.
• Perform belt splices, lacing repairs and pin replacements.
• Repair conveyors including belts, gearboxes, rollers, bearings and motors.
