Job summary

First Quality in McElhattan, PA seeks a Controls Technician to troubleshoot, maintain and install PLCs, HMIs, and automation equipment for production lines. The role is a 12-hour overnight position on a rotating two-week schedule, with emphasis on reliability, safety, and line performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with an associate’s degree in Mechatronics or related discipline.
• Disciplines include Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Robotics and Automation, Electrical Maintenance, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Controls Technology.
• 1–3 years of Industrial Controls experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, maintains, and installs PLCs, HMIs, process instrumentation, machine control systems, VFDs, servo drives, machine vision, robotics, power distribution (<600V), and control system networking.
• Interfaces with PLC/HMI programs to diagnose equipment issues.
• Reads and uses electrical schematics and test equipment to diagnose issues.
• Performs electrical preventive maintenance to maintain like-new equipment condition.
• Works with production and support to identify and resolve problems.
• Assists with department projects and equipment installations as necessary.
• Owns personal safety and follows all electrical safety rules.
