Job summary

Valeo North America Inc. seeks a Controls Specialist for the night shift in Reno, NV. You will program and troubleshoot automated systems using Allen-Bradley PLCs, oversee ramp-ups, and optimize line performance across robotics, motion control, and vision systems.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering and 4+ years of PLC programming experience in a high-speed environment, including experience with Keyence/Cognex vision systems and VFDs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or similar.
4+ years of PLC programming experience in a high-speed industrial environment.
Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and robotic systems (Fanuc/ABB/Kuka).
Experience with vision systems (Keyence or Cognex) and VFDs.

Responsibilities

Modify and optimize PLC programs using IEC 61131-3 languages, focusing on Ladder Diagram for complex processes.
Oversee ramp-up of manufacturing lines, including automation, robotics, PLCs, motion control, and vision systems.
Implement high-speed motion control and integrate multiple PLCs, sensors, and actuators into control architectures.
Perform benchmarking and market analysis to stay updated on trends and apply them mid-term actions.
Ensure lock out/tag out procedures and create test standards for replication at Valeo sites.
