Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic for a 6PM–6AM night shift in Illinois. The role offers starting pay of $31.46 per hour with a $1 shift differential, overtime, and quarterly bonuses.

You will inspect, repair, and set up can-line equipment, read blueprints, perform quality checks, and operate forklifts as needed. High school diploma and 2+ years in manufacturing are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Journeyman Mechanic plus preferred.
• 2+ years as an Industrial Mechanic in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Adjusts and/or repair all equipment in the department.
• Inspects products for defects and records results on forms.
• Inform supervisor if defects are found.
• Perform all required quality checks and document them.
• Reject material that does not meet specifications and provide samples.
• Lubricate all equipment in the department as required.
• Sets up and performs changeovers; follows published schedule.
• Occasional forklift operation.
• Observe all rules of safety.
