Silgan Containers Manufacturing Corporation in Savage, MN is seeking an Industrial Mechanic for a 6PM-6AM shift on the 223 schedule. Starting pay is $31.46/hour with overtime and quarterly bonuses; benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401K with match, and paid time off.

Room to grow and a strong safety program are emphasized. Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing can-line machinery, reading blueprints, ensuring quality checks, and performing changeovers with adherence to safety

Qualifications

• Proven background in manufacturing or similar production environment.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and drawings
• Ability to use measuring hand tools to set up and maintain all can line machinery and associated equipment
• Critical and logical thinking ability
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Possess ability for basic computer skills
• Ability to work with little supervision
• Able to work at heights including use of steps and ladders

Responsibilities

• Adjusts and/or repair all equipment in the department
• Inspects products for defects and record results on required forms
• Inform supervisor if any defects are found
• Perform all required quality checks and document them as required
• Reject material that does not meet specifications and provide samples as required
• Lubricate all equipment in the department as required
• Sets up and performs changeovers. Follows schedule as published
• Occasional forklift operation
• Observe all rules of safety
