Job summary

Silgan Containers Mfg Corp seeks an Industrial Mechanic for the 6PM–6AM shift in Savage, MN. Starting pay is $31.46/hour with a $1.00 night-shift differential and overtime.

We offer quarterly bonuses and comprehensive medical, dental, vision, a 401(k) with match, 2 weeks vacation, 2 personal days and 10 holidays. Responsibilities include adjusting and repairing equipment, inspecting products, reading blueprints, using hand tools, and performing changeovers.

Qualifications

• Proven background in manufacturing or similar production environment.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and drawings.
• Ability to use measuring hand tools to set up and maintain all can line machinery and associated equipment.
• Critical and logical thinking ability.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Possess ability for basic computer skills.
• Ability to work with little supervision.
• Able to work at heights including use of steps and ladders.

Responsibilities

• Adjusts and/or repair all equipment in the department.
• Inspects products for defects and record results on required forms.
• Inform supervisor if any defects are found.
• Perform all required quality checks and document them as required.
• Reject material that does not meet specifications and provide samples as required.
• Lubricate all equipment in the department as required.
• Sets up and performs changeovers. Follows schedule as published.
• Occasional forklift operation.
• Observe all rules of safety.
