Job summary

CMI Group is seeking a CNC Machinist for the night shift at our Phoenix, AZ facility. The role involves operating CNC lathes and mills on proven production jobs, reading GD&T-accurate blueprints, and performing tool setup with first piece inspection.

You will maintain a clean work area and adhere to safety protocols in a fast-paced aerospace/defense environment. Qualifications include 2–5 years of CNC experience, strong GD&T knowledge, and the ability to stand for long shifts.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience running CNC lathes or CNC mills
• Good understanding of GD&T and industry standards of inspection
• Ability to stand for the majority of the work shift
• Ability to use computer software, ERP system, and clock in/out of jobs

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines without oversight running proven production jobs
• Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T symbols for part features and inspection points
• Set up tooling, load programs, and perform first piece buy-off
• Perform daily machine maintenance and keep area clean and organized
• Record inspection data and ensure proper documentation (MOT, Traveler sheets)
• Communicate issues to lead personnel and ensure safety standards are met
