Job summary

Jobot in Winsted, CT is seeking a CNC Machinist for the 11pm–7am shift to produce aerospace and precision components on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills. You will read blueprints, set up tooling, adjust feeds and speeds, and perform in-process inspections to tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Technical machining certificate is a plus.
• Minimum 3+ years of CNC machining experience in precision manufacturing or aerospace environments.
• Strong experience operating and setting up multi-axis mills.
• Experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining centers.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T confidently.
• Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Okuma, Makino, Mitsubishi, or similar CNC controls.
• Strong inspection background using precision measurement equipment.
• Proven ability to machine tight-tolerance components with minimal scrap.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for tooling, offsets, setups, and machine issues.
• Detail-oriented with strong quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC mills
• Machine complex aerospace-grade components to tight tolerances
• Interpret advanced blueprints, prints, and GD&T callouts
• Adjust tooling, offsets, feeds, speeds, and machining parameters
• Perform in-process inspections and final quality checks
• Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision tools
• Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize setups for efficiency
• Reduce scrap and rework through precision-focused execution
• Collaborate with engineering and programming teams on process improvements
• Maintain safe and clean work area standards
