Job summary

Jobot is seeking a skilled 3rd shift CNC Mill Machinist in Winsted, CT for an on-site, permanent role. You will set up and run 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills to produce aerospace-grade parts, interpreting complex blueprints and GD&T, adjusting tooling and parameters, and performing in-process inspections.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in precision aerospace machining, and experience with multiple CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, Okuma, Makino, Mitsubishi).

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC machining experience in precision manufacturing or aerospace environments
• Experience operating and setting up 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T callouts confidently
• Experience with multiple CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, Okuma, Makino, Mitsubishi)
• Strong inspection background with precision measurement tools
• Tight-tolerance machining with minimal scrap

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Set up and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC mills
• Machine complex aerospace-grade components to tight tolerances
• Interpret advanced blueprints, prints, and GD&T callouts

• Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision tools
• Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize setups for efficiency
• Reduce scrap and rework through precision-focused execution
• Collaborate with engineering and programming teams on process improvements
• Maintain safe and clean work area standards

Qualifications Section - Needed:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Technical machining certificate a plus
• Minimum 3+ years of CNC machining experience in precision manufacturing or aerospace environments
• Strong experience operating and setting up multi-axis mills
• Experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining centers
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T confidently
• Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Okuma, Makino, Mitsubishi, or similar CNC controls
• Strong inspection background using precision measurement equipment
• Proven ability to machine tight-tolerance components with minimal scrap
• Strong troubleshooting skills for tooling, offsets, setups, and machine issues
• Detail-oriented with strong quality standards
